Instructions for Google Earth

Hello!

I should tell you some of the cool things you can do once you've downloaded Google Earth.

First there is zooming and in out with the mouse scroll wheel.

You can also:

- double click on a spot and it will zoom in on its own

- click and drag the map to pan it in any direction.

- click-drag and let go while still moving and you will set the screen in motion so that you are "flying over" the terrain. This is especially cool over something spectacular like the grand canyon because the relief is very 3-D when you go over a peak: you will see more of a side once you are on that side.

- Just don't spin it too fast or you will get dizzy!

- As you go from place to place, the compass orientation may shift (you are transforming a sphere into only 2 dimensions) - you can set north straight up again by clicking on the "N" button near the bottom.

- Now you may not believe this, but you can do more than just look down. To the right of the clock-wise arrow button, you will see a slider. You can actually change the viewing angle from top-down to side-on at whatever elevation you choose. Play with all of the buttons to see what you can do - I might not even know it all yet!

Good Luck!
Bob
